Penny Welles earned her California Broker's real estate license in 1990. She began her real estate career in Denver, Colorado in 1982. Penny has always believed strongly in the value of real estate and has invested her own money in personal homes as well as rental properties since 1978.
After a few visits to the Bay Area, Penny fell in love with San Francisco’s temperate climate, and in 1983 accepted a position with a Fortune 500 company to organize and coordinate capital improvement projects. Her negotiating and strategic planning skills were further sharpened and her experience there allowed her to fine-tune her problem solving and troubleshooting abilities, which proved to be invaluable to her real estate success.
Prior to joining Hill & Co., Penny was an asset manager for over fifteen years. She managed commercial property with five hundred plus tenants, negotiating and drafting all leases and was charged with the oversight all budgeting activities, capital and tenant improvement projects and day-to-day operations.
Penny loves working with people to meet their real estate needs and wants, whether it is helping clients find the perfect home or investment property, or assisting them to navigate through the often daunting selling process. Penny takes great care in listening to her clients’ wishes and works diligently to meet their goals. Because Penny has been through the purchasing and selling transactions with her personal properties, she fully understands what clients undergo. To stay abreast of current markets Penny takes real estate and finance-related courses on an ongoing basis. Penny received her BS degree in Business from the University of Colorado and has taken postgraduate finance courses from the University of California at Berkeley. Penny earned her Real Property Administrator certification in 1994 and has completed all coursework for the Certified Property Management designation.
Penny was awarded a Hill & Co. Top Producer Award in 2008. In her spare time, she plays tennis, scuba dives and sails. In addition, she teaches young people the basic principles of money management and investing.
